"We come to know that the mariner and other seamen had been sailing across remote seas. Yet the purpose of their voyage steps aside the results of the journey in the mariner's story. The ship was driven by the storm into the land of ice where the seamen were the only living beings. When the crew saw an albatross, they all hailed it with joy. Although the albatross became a guide and was said to bring the crew good luck, the mariner killed the albatross in the end because he believed it caused a weather change, it brougt fog and mist. Althoug the mariner was led by a rather superstitious reason, he did not show any animosity to the bird. He was just the only man from the crew who took the responsibility, who refused to mope and the albatross became an easy target of his impatience and arrogance."
