"Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter. She was born in 1907 as the third of four children. Her faher was a German Kahlo photographer and her mother was Mexican. Their marriage was pretty unhappy, but Frida had a great childhood. She was very close to her father and they shared the passion of photography.
At the age of six Frida contracted polio which left her right leg thinner than the left one. Whe she wa 18 years old she was in a bus accident. She was driving home from the library and her bus crashed in the trolley. She suffered serious injuries. Her pelvis, leg and ribs were broken.
For some time doctors even thought she won't be able to walk again. She spend 3 months in a bed. She started to paint because she had a long time just lain in the bed doing nothing. She had a mirror infront of her bed and herself was the only thing she saw from there, so on most of her paintings is she. She found out that she might have a talent. After several months she was able to walk again even thought she was ever since the accident in the big pain.
She decided that she would like to be a painter, because she enjoyed painting very much, but she wasn't sure She she asked Diego Riviera, who was back at the time famous mexican painter, for his opinion. And he thought that she was wery talented and decided to help her to develope her talent.
Diego and Frida fell in love and they eventually got married. Life with Diego
wasn´t very easy for Frida, because he loved women and alcohol. He cheated on her many times and she knew about it.Her and Diego lived in two separated houses which were connected by a bridge. They said that the are two indipendent people so they need two separated houses, but the bridge is their love. Frida and Diego got divorced after he cheated on her with her sister, but they still lived in those very same houses and were very close to each other.
Both Frida and Diego were communists. They were even hiding Trockij before he was assassinated. Frida was very proud to be a mexican. She loved to wear typical mexican clothes even when she lived for some time in New York, and her house was build in typical mexican style.
Frida Kahlo died on July 13, 1954, soon after turning 47."
