The English language as a global language has many varieties, different accents, different vocabulary and local dialects.
The American English tends to simplify grammar and spelling, but young people tend to speak more likely American English thanks to the Hollywood production and also thanks to music.
Australian English uses a lot of shortenings.
In the British English there are many different accents and dialects. While an accent is just a different way of pronunciation, a dialect includes changes in the language itself - such as vocabulary and grammar.

4) English nowadays
Nowadays English is the second widely spoken language after Chinese, also it’s an official language in over 70 countries and the official language in medicine, science, music. media, business and finance. Nowadays 80% of English words come from other languages.
5) Learning a foreign language
Learning a foreign language is very important for people that want to travel, for business and also for students that want to study or work abroad and without knowing a world language it would be nearly impossible.
English became a world language because of its colonies in the past but also because of the simplicity of the grammar. I think it’s also the easiest language to learn thanks to the Hollywood production in English, the music in English and also because of the fact that 70% of the internet is in English."
