"National stereotypes

The national stereotypes (characters) are usually a result of info in media, traveling and own experiences, traditions and upbringing. Sometimes, they aren´t true.

The English
The English are said to be conservative. They don´t like changes. They still use their traditional system of weights and measures, have a monarchy, drive on the left and still wear traditional school uniforms at some schools. They are renowned for their politeness and good table manners. Unlike Czechs, they like to converse at table and they don't clink with glasses. They don't shake hands and kiss hello so often as we do. They are also famous for their dry humour. English men are gentlemen. It means an honest man with good manners.
The English are fond of pets and children. Their mania for tea is very famous. Britain is notorious for rainy weather but they have wet and mild climate which makes the lawns so green all year round. People are allowed to walk on the grass and they often have a picnic on it."
