"The development of science and technology is as old as mankind. I think that it starts in prehistory when people found out how to make a fire.
● The birth of technology was when first human made sharp cutting edges from a stone. People discovered metals like lead, copper and iron.
● Next invention was wheel (4500 BC) → after 2000 years later people started to use windmills (longest - used invention in human history)

● 9th - 18th century
• Gunpowder - used in guns, Roger Bacon (1214 – 1294), an English Science and friar and philosopher, was the first to describe its formula.
• Printing - it was developed in 1440 by Johannes Gutenberg = 1456 first printed book
• Telescope - thanks to this invention Galilei was able to prove that the Earth rotated around the Sun; This confirmed the ideas of the Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, but it angered the Catholic Church who had adopted the idea that the Earth was at the centre of everything.
• The microscope - invented by Hans Janssens = helped in research of microorganisms and diseases
• Lightning conductor - protect buildings from being damaged by lightning, it was made by Prokop Diviš"
