"1. Úvod:
Unfortunately, violence and criminal offence are present every day. A lot of people have committed a crime in their lives – a serious or a small crime. In the Czech Republic there are prisons full of people, who have commited a crime (v minulosti a proto teď dřepí ve vězení). These people are sentenced to prison for blackmailing, burglary, robbery, rape, mugging, kidnapping etc…

2. Criminals:
For example:
Blackmailer – a man who is blackmailing other people. A man can also blackmail over the Internet or over the phone. ??
Burglar – a man who goes to a foreign flat, there he takes money or an expensive thing. He can have a mask, so people open the door.
Robber – a man who robs people. Robber robs shops, corporation or a kiosk.
Rapper – a man who are sexually attacking a girl or a women.
Mugger – a man who is attacking people on the street, or other places, but only outside.
Kidnapper – a man who kidnaps children on the street, in shops or shopping centres. The kidnappers often request a ransom.

3. Fine, murder, rob or burglar
Police have to protect people from criminals.
Fine: For example, if you exceed (překročit) the speed, you can get a fine. The person has to pay money to the court. But there are worse punishments, than fine.
Murder: If some criminal commits a murder, he can get a live sentence or a death penalty. Person will go to prison. This punishment is extreme, because everybody isn’t a murder.
Rob or Burglar: For example if you rob or burglar you can get punishment, for example community service, when the person has to do some helpful (užitečný) work in their local area. This punishment is possible (je možný) only when you are adult. If you are teenager, you can go to a converting institute. (Viděla jste film Spáči? To by se tam dalo zmínit...a je to dost hustej film!)

4. Death penalty
The most extreme punishment is the death penalty. This punishment is practiced in some countries in the USA, in the Republic of China. In Europe, Belarus is the only country where the death penalty is practised.
The Death penalty was in Czech Republic in 20th century, but only in small number of crimes.
The Death penalty was abused (zneužít) for political affairs in the middle of the twentieth century. For example – in the case of Milada Horáková. In the Czech Republic, the Death penalty was canceled in 1990.
The methods of the death penalty in some countries of the USA: gas chamber (plynová komora), lethal injection (smrtící injekce) or electric chair."
