Úryvek

"The Czech Republic is situated in Central Europe. It has border with German, Poland, Slovakia and Austria. The longest border is with German and the shortest with Slovakia. The Czech Republic is made up of three historical regions – Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia.
The Czech Republic was founded on the 1. January 1993. Before was the Czechoslovakia. Nowadays is a parliamentary democracy with two houses: The Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. The president is a head of state. His name is Miloš Zeman. The head of government is the Prime minister. The Czech Republic's flag is red, white and blue. The country is a member of the United Nations, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Union. Currency is the Czech Crown. Official language is Czech language.
The capital and the biggest city is Prague. The second largest city is Brno, located in Moravia. Other important cities include Ostrava, České Budějovice, Olomouc and Plzeň.
Now I would like to speak about industry. In the Czech Republic is heavy, glass, textile, chemical and ceramic industry. There are 2 nuclear power plants – Dukovany and Temelín. In the Czech Republic people grow f. e. potatoes, rapeseed, corn, fruit and hop plant. Beer is make from hop plants and it is national drink. Czech people and tourist say: In the Czech Republic is the best beer in the world. The Czech Republic is number one in beer consumption, averaging a half litre a day for every man, woman and children. It is unbelievable. Breweries are f. e. Starobrno, Hostan, Pilsner Urquell and so on. The Czech Republic produces slivovitz, alcohol drink Becherovka and Fernet. Very good wine make in Moravia.
The climate is mildly. Thanks climate the Czech Republic entice tourists year – round. Czech landscape is quite varied and very interesting for tourists. Bohemia is surrounded by mountains with the highest point of Sněžka. Snežka is located in Krkonoše mountains. Other famous mountains are Šumava, Jeseníky or Beskydy. Here you can go to skiing or to nordic – walking. The longest river in the Czech Republic is the Vltava. Other big rivers are Labe, Morava, Odra or Sázava. Rivers are suitable for paddler, canoeists or rafting. There are many ponds in south Bohemia. The biggest pond is Rožemberk. In the Czech Republic are located 4 National parks – Krkonošský National park is the oldest and the youngest is the National park Czech Switzerland. The land is quite heavily forested. Šumava in the south has some of the oldest forests in the country. Český ráj (Bohemian Paradise) is a popular area for hiking and has many interesting rock formations. Moravian Karst is famous for its cave systems and there is the most popular abyss – Macocha.
A lot of famous people come from the Czech Republic Antonín Dvořák and Bedřich Smetana are significant composers. Two Czechs have won the Nobel Prize: Professor Jaroslav Heyrovský for chemistry and Jaroslav Seifert for literature. Contact lenses were invented by the Czech chemist Otto Wichterle. Some famous athletes are Jaromír Jágr for ice‑hockey, Martina Sáblíková for speed skating, Petr Čech for football or Petra Kvitová for tennis. She won Wimbledon. The most popular writers are f. e. Karel Čapek, Bohumila Hrabal or Michal Viewegh.
Now something about attractive sights what you must see. The most popular sights are UNESCO sights. There are 12 UNESCO sights. In my opinion the nicest UNESCO sights are historical centre in Prague, cultural landscape in Lednice and Valtice, vila Tugendhat in Brno and of course Třebíč with the Jewish quarter with cemetery and st. Procopius Basilica. If you can visit some castles I recommend you castle Hluboká nad Vltavou, baroque castle in Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou or castle in Český Krumlov. Karlštejn is one of the most famous castles in the Czech Republic. It was built by King Charles IV. All regions are very interesting for tourist and there is a lot of attractions what you must see."
