"1st April is called All Fools day. People play jokes and tricks on their friends and then they shout “April Fool”.
Easter are celebrated during April and it is Christian feast. People give Easter eggs, symbols of new life as presents.
The Queen´s official Birthday is celebrated during June. It is connected with many interesting ceremonials as trooping the colours.
31st October is dedicated to Halloween. Children dress special Halloween costumes and masks. They visit their friends and neighbours houses and they say “trick or treat” – it means give us a treat or we will play a trick on you. People threat them with sweets, fruit and money. People usually make jack-o-lantern from pumpkins and candles.
On the 5th November is festival called Guy Fawkes who tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill King James I. People this day burn a dummy, made of straw and old clothes.
24th December is day of office party and people usually buy last presents. Children hang up their Christmas stockings, hoping that Father Christmas will come down the chimney during the night and fill them with presents.
The Christmas Day is on 25th December. Children´s unwrap their Christmas presents in the morning. Christmas dinner consists of roast turkey, roast potatoes and Christmas pudding.
26th December is called Boxing Day. This is the time to visit friends and relatives.
New Year´s Eve is on 31st December. People celebrate it with fireworks, they dance and have fun."
