Types of Houses
There are many kinds of houses where people can live for example terraced house which is a house that is joined to houses on either side of it by a shared wall. A semi-detached house is connected to any other similar house just on one side and a detached house stands on its own.
In the cities are usually blocks of flats and single people can also live in a bedsit. This is a rented room with a bed and somewhere to cook in it. In big cities, there are even skyscrapers. Old people can live in a bungalow because this house has got only one storey and there aren‘t any stairs. Then can also live in Old people‘s home when they‘re too old or weak to take care of themselves. In the countryside, there are also many cottages. A cottage is a house built in old-fashionable style. Some people can also live in a tent, a caravan, a farm or a houseboat.
